Seems Manuelgate only exploded after the Mail got hold of it. The BBC ended up getting a £150,000 slap from Ofcome, which probably meant some play or podcast got cut.

Now Brand is a wally but I wish the Mail would do exposés on his conspiracy theory bollocks instead.

If Oxsnore thinks it's an acceptable "laugh" to leave obscene answerphone messages about his ex partner and Andrew Sachs' granddaughter, then it just shows all of us where his morals lie?

Andrew Sachs (Manuel in Fawlty Towers)

Not Andrew Sachs the plumber then?

"It'll help that a lot of people don't understand why he would bother raping anyone when he was getting laid a lot anyway."

Russel Brand aside, that's such a massively moronic view (I know you're not saying it directly) in fact people that are famous and sex addicts are probably more prone to taking the word no very badly.

On the subject of Brand my ex's friend used to be a regular part er of his. She both was obsessed by him and hated it at the same time. He was in to quite a lot of humiliation stuff, making her lick his toilet seat and weird stuff like that. Make of that what you will!

Re: Russell Brand
If a crime has been committed then I hope charges are brought and convictions given.

If no crime has been committed then it does feel like a hit piece and the whole lad / laddish culture created and nurtured by the media in the 90s/00s will be under the spotlight which won’t look good for channel 4 (The Word, Girlie Show etc) and will have hundreds of “celebs” being questioned for their behaviours back then.

Geezer has a lot of enemies and the entertainment industry is a vipers nest full of jealous people pretending to be nice in front of camera. It’s another story, another battle line drawn for the idiots in front of the telly to choose a side to back and keep tuning in.

Let’s see when happens. If real then a court of law will expose it. If not real then gossip and rumour will continue and the hit piece will have worked to a point for the mainstream and Brand will grow his own audience even more.

One thing I have always wondered - is Kathryn Ryan and asset? I’m yet to understand what she does, why she is everywhere and why nobody on the states or Canada even knows who she is.

Back to the 90s/00s laddish culture issue - she was as a corporate trainer for Hooters so will have some issues in her past too…

Not a fan of Brand. I have family members who hang on every word he says and take it as absolute truth. I think he’s an arrogant shit bag who tries to belittle people with his ‘superior’ intellect, and uses 100 words when 10 will do.

Agree with the ‘if no crime committed’ point, although I do have a massive dislike of him.

Re: Russell Brand
The thing is back when his sexual pestering was at its height it wasn’t seen by society as serious. Creepy and weird yes but not something criminal. Doesn’t make it right but he’s clearly learnt that’s it’s not the thing to do.

I once fingered a bird in a club within a few minutes of meeting her without even saying any words when we were both off our nuts. She loved it, I loved it but in 2023 we now know that this would constitute sexual assault, possibly rape. I had no idea of this at the time but do now so would never dream of doing such a thing.

Behave cough the bloke is incredibly eloquent. Just cos you don’t like him and he could say things in fewer words doesn’t make this any less so. He’s creative with language , different ways of communicating.

Re: Russell Brand
Brand speaks fast and uses as much of the English language he can muster. Thats not to everyone’s taste.

I would suggest he was infinitely less conspiratorial on Covid than mainstream media. They were definitely conspiring with government and big pharma.

His other exposes reference seemingly excellent authorities and sources that dont cow tow to the vested interests of the technocratic corporate media.

He is seemingly siding with the libertarian powers and not the left/centrist corporate/political union. He himself is and has always been left leaning.

He kniws where money and power is but is risking a lot with those whom he is targeting. They will get him somehow.

Re: Russell Brand
I always suspected that the reason he withdrew from the mainstream and Hollywood was because he knew the metoo thing would do for him. No way would someone as egotistical and talented step away from that unless they felt they had to. I suspect he’s been running scared for years and also theorise that this is behind his whole anti MSM schtick.

The guy is extremely intelligent and when you know full well you’re guilty of something what better way to protect yourself than recruit an army/cult of followers around the premise of disbelieving everything the media says and labelling everything a conspiracy theory.

Classic narcissistic behaviour and actually and extremely good way of trying to negate the impact of the blatant criminality that he’s been guilty of in the last.

Since metoo all his whole world has involved building up the barricades for when this day finally comes.

If he was really smart though he would have used his wealth to live somewhere without an extradition treaty with uk but maybe he felt that was too blatant.

I don't really follow Brand, as it's not really my thing, but he was at least a match with Simon Jordan in a 'debate' on Talksport recently and probably got the better of him, and not many do that. Def a clever fucker.

Re: Russell Brand
Bit of a weird reaction to this tbh. Like it's somehow a big deal that someone who takes on the media subsequently has the media go after them.

It's never been any different. Politicians, sportsmen, 'celebrities', whoever.... this isn't some new fangled, revelatory situation.
